Andy Abramson recently offered his own six tips for video calling and planning, in response to something Peter Csathy said about video call pre-planning. Andy’s tips are sort of supplemental to my own video calling etiquettetips of past months. However, we seem to be of differing opinions onsome issues. I guess it depends on who you are and whom you’re talkingto.Vanity. It should be more about
appearancethan vanity, per se. If you look like a slob and are video chattingwith someone that doesn’t know you, what’ll they think of your work?Multi-tasking. Sorry, but I have to disagree. Most people wouldconsider it rude, especially if they don’t know you. People who know medon’t mind, usually because they are busy themselves. But don’t do itfor a first time meeting, unless you’re very discreet.
