Oh Canada! True Innovators

We find it surprising when Canadian analysts tell us that “Canada is generally 2 to 3 years behind the US”. For a country with a population equal to state of California and the second largest land mass in the world they are a pretty innovative bunch!

From acrylic to your everyday zipper, Canada brought us more amazing innovations in between. Basketball, Hockey and Lacrosse are all Canadian. As is the insulin process, heart pacemaker and instant mashed potatoes.

Jajah Celebrates Indian Independence Day


India is an important market in the world economy – as a provider and a consumer – in all sectors. Our co-founder Roman Scharf recently visited Delhi to meet with potential partners, analysts and the media. AlwaysOn Winner - New Captains of Innovation

A little while ago, JAJAH was named to the AlwaysOn list of “100 Top Private Companies for 2007″. We were very honored to be recognized out of a field of over 600 nominated companies. Trevor Healy, our CEO was also selected to join the distinguished AO “New Captains Of Innovation” panel, but was unfortunately out of the country and unable to attend.

Skype 2.7 for Mac Beta launched


Skype has just announced a beta release of Skype 2.7 version for Mac adding a host of cooling features in it.

Since the new version is in testing stage, there might be some bugs. Don’t worry. Skype will take care that.

DirecTV goes VoIP


DirecTV has will provide its customers VoIP and high speed broadband services in the coming days, most probably next year. For which, the California-based satellite TV broadcaster has reached out an agreement with Current Group, the provider of Broadband Over Powerline (BPL) internet services. However, the financial details of the deal are not disclosed by both the companies.

VoIP hacker imprisoned


Spokane, Washington-based Robert Moore who made millions of dollars from illegal VoIP business has been sentenced two years imprisonment and fined $150,000.

The 23-year old hacker was successful in hacking VoIP networks of some of the leading service providers. He developed generic software to run brute-force attacks against Cisco XM routers and Quintum Tenor voice gateways.

Skype, Symantec club up for VoIP security


Security firm, Symantec announced that VoIP giant Skype has reached out an agreement with its local distributor, Workgroup for PC security solutions. The deal with Symantec will enable Skype to provide secure VoIP services to the residential as well as corporate customers.
