New VOIP options for SMBs added by ShoreTel



In order to improve the efficiency of organizations and productivity of end users ShoreTel is introducing a number of IP Telephony enhance enhancements. This is also expected to bring down the cost of ownership of ShoreTel IPT products. The company has introduced the latest version of its software, the first SIP based IP phone and has also added a small footprint IP PBX hardware.

Fring supports Nokia N95!

When I reported the elimination of VoIP functionality from Nokia N95 by Vodafone and Orange and then the reasons of the removal, a Fring spokesperson left a comment in one of my above posts.

I think the comment is an indication that VoIP is there with Nokia N95.

Fring, the emerging MVoIP application will still work on the N95.

Skype growth slows


eBay has released the first quarter results of 2007. The result makes us clear that the auctioneers VoIP wing is growing but not satisfactorily in comparison to the past quarters.

According the eBay data, Skype has signed up nearly 196 million users by the end of March 2007, an increase of 107 percent from 95 million registered users a year earlier.

MobiGater provides free Skype to mobile calls


Its a gateway for Skype to GSM and vice versa. Eurodesign has dubbed it MobiGater, which connects your PC that runs Skype and your mobile phone and allows the users to make free Skype and low cost SkypeOut international calls from their mobile phones anywhere in the world.

Kensington Vo200 supports Skype service


Kensington has rolled out its Vo200 Bluetooth Internet Phone, a new Bluetooth-supported phone for making VoIP calls. This Bluetooth device supports Skype, MSN, Yahoo! and Google services.

VoIP is not reliable: Vodafone


Explaining the reasons for the elimination of VoIP service from Nokia N95, Vodafone says VoIP is not a reliable technology and confronts a number of problems like in-depth testing, a solid end-to-end user customer experience, billing integration and customer support.

Nortel, TELMEX collaborate for Enterprise Hosted IP PBX Offering


TELMEX, the largest telecommunications service provider in Mexico has reached an agreement with Nortel to provide Hosted IP PBX services to both medium and large business enterprises in the country.

As per the deal, Toronto-based Nortel would provide its IP based telecom and multimedia solutions to the Mexican telecom giant. It includes Notels Communication Server 2000 and Nortels Global Services portfolio.

Verizon offers Unlimited Messaging


Taking a step to meet the growing demand for greater text messaging options, Verizon Wireless has announced a new plan known as Americas Choice plan, which brings Unlimited Messaging service for the customers. The US-based VoIP giant is also rolling out Americas Choice Family SharePlan Select with Unlimited Messaging for all the lines on the plan.
